Process audits in their organizations or their Suppliers’ organizations should be carried out by companies producing parts for the automotive market, supplying their products to German customers.

Process audits are carried out both inside the organization and at the Organization’s suppliers throughout the product life cycle.

Before approving (nominating) a supplier, the organization shall conduct a Potential Analysis for:

• Unknown vendor / candidate – the candidate has not delivered to the organization
• Unknown technology – the candidate has used new processes or produces new products
• unknown production location – the candidate did not deliver to the organization from the considered location.

Audits can be performed by:

• Internal Process Auditor – qualifications; knowledge of norms and standards, successfully completed VDA 6.3 training, professional experience of at least 3 years in industry (preferably from automotive manufacturing companies) and 1 year of experience in quality and / or process management
• Supply chain process auditor – qualifications; well-established quality and process management, specialist knowledge in the field of product and process, successfully completed VDA 6.3 training (based on EOQ systematics), work experience of at least 5 years in industry (preferably from automotive production companies) and 2 years of experience in the field of quality and / or process management.
