BRC

Hearing BRC most will think “food”, you need to know that not only.

The BRC organization has developed standards that are successfully used by both suppliers and sellers of products. Basically, we have 4 standards at our disposal:

  • BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 6
  • BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials Issue 4
  • BRC Global Standard for Consumer Products Issue 3
  • BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution Issue 2

Who should implement BRC Food?

BRC Global Standard Food – The global standard on food safety is the requirements for food producers, addressed in particular to producers supplying products to retail chains. The standard was developed in UK and quickly gained recognition around the world.

The standard covers the following areas:

  • Commitment of top management and continuous improvement
  • Food safety plan – HACCP
  • Food quality and safety management system
  • Plant and production environment
  • Product inspection
  • Process control
  • Staff

BRC is not only for food

BRC Global Consumer Products

A standard for all those who want to demonstrate that their products are safe, legal and quality-compliant.
The standard is intended for non-food products.
The standard was developed in UK and is currently enjoying great popularity around the world.

The BRC standard ensures that meeting its requirements guarantees that the organization carries out the processes safely, legally, ensuring the appropriate quality, providing products that meet the requirements of the consumer and legal regulations. In short, production and product requirements ensuring that everything is legal, safe and of the right quality.
The standard for consumer products is intended for non-food products, which does not mean that it applies to all other products. More precisely, you will not apply the standard if you provide:

  • Products for which BRC has developed other standards (BRC Global Standard for Food Safety),
  • Motor vehicles, unless they are toys, sports equipment or vehicles not intended to be driven on public roads,
  • Wholesale fuel, or you run a gas station,
  • Prescription drugs,
  • Vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements,
  • Plants, seeds and materials for their growth,
  • Live animals.
